Hawaii Geography: All the Hawaii islands formed by the action of the volcanos that arose from the bottom of the sea, from a magma source that in geology denominates volcanic center. This theory maintains that the volcanic plate under the Pacific Ocean moves in direction the northwest, reason why the volcanic center stays stationary, creating new volcanos little by little. For this reason, the volcanoes in South half of the Big Island remain solely in active. The oldest islands have the inactive volcanoes,while the newest islands still have volcanoes in activity. In the top of one of those inactive volcanos, Mauna Kea, is one of the greater concentrations of telescopes of the world.
